We are seeking a Housing Coordinator to deliver quality and timely services to welcome refugees and ensure that they are provided with a home that meets program requirements.

In this role, you'll maintain a broad network of affordable housing options, securing and coordinating safe, appropriate and affordable housing for our clients, particularly newly arriving refugees and coordinating housing for individuals with disabilities. In addition, your responsibilities will include organizing donation procurement, overseeing and managing furnishings, supervising client housing expenditures, record-keeping and accurate documentation of services. You'll work hand in hand with our Resettlement team and volunteers to ensure the best possible initial resettlement experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency.


  • Bachelor's degree in a human-services related discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working with refugee communities for at least one year and relevant experience in providing services to low-income individual. This requirement may be substituted by additional relevant education.
  • Working knowledge of community resources for refugees and immigrants.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing / housing issues
  • Experience advocating with landlords and familiarity with leases a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English, fluency in an additional language a significant plus.

This position pays $19 per hour and offers great benefits including 21 days accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 13 holidays, excellent health insurance options (BCBS), 401k and much more. This position requires a reliable vehicle, a clean NYS driver's license, required liability insurance levels of 100/300K and evidence of having received the Covid-19 vaccine.
