This position provides community outreach and client services within the TST-R framework, working directly with enrolled youth and their families to support successful outcomes. In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and provide family support services including intake, assessment, and planning, working with the family and JFS clinical staff to create a plan that supports behavioral health goals.
  • Assist in linking clients with all services identified as integral to successful outcomes including, but not limited to, Department of Social Services, health care, education, and employment.
  • Conduct community outreach including, but not limited to, organizing community events and providing education about TST-R programming and mental health to prospective participants
  • Help parents and caregivers identify how they may best support the mental health and well-being of their children. This may include understanding mental health diagnosis and treatment plans.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in Burma, Dari or Pashtu and in-depth knowledge of the culture of one of these linguistic groups
  • Experience working with refugee youth and families impacted by trauma.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet the demands of the job.


This position pays $19 per hour and offers great benefits including 21 days accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), plus up to 15 holidays, excellent health insurance options (BCBS), 401k and much more. We are conveniently on Main Street near Highgate. Since this position requires work in the community, you must have a reliable vehicle, a clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of 100/300K. If hired, you must also produce evidence of having received the Covid-19 vaccination.
