WHAT YOU'LL DO
In the Housing Assistant role, you'll report directly to our Housing Coordinator and work closely with our volunteer team and case managers. You'll support them by coordinating the logistics of housing setups including ordering furniture and supplies and arranging delivery, arranging utility hookups. This also includes moving furniture into homes and ensuring all required items are provided for setup. Additionally, you'll:
- Assist with housing inspections, housing setups, utility setups, housing search and other daily tasks.
- Communicate with landlords regarding scheduling, repairs, and housing services.
- Participate in weekly housing and resettlement team meetings and trainings as needed.
- Pick up donated furniture and other household items.
- Drive agency van and rented box truck.
- Initiate utility services for new residents.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Knowledge of Microsoft Team accounts and strong computer skills
- The ability to lift 35 - 50 lbs. to move furniture and housing materials for set-up
- Ability to drive vehicles such as box truck, moving van or personal vehicle for transporting housing materials
- A valid driver's license, liability insurance in the amount of 100/300K
- Understanding of and adherence to, proper uniform for assigned daily tasks
- Knowledge of language supports a plus

The starting wage for this position is $20.00- $22.50 (midrange) per hour dependent on experience and language skills. This position offers great benefits including 4+ weeks accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 13 paid holidays, excellent health insurance options (IHA), 401k and much more. We also have a reduced 35 hour work week with an early close on Fridays!
Since this position requires work in the community, you must have a reliable vehicle, clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of $100/$300k. Additionally, if selected for this position, you must be able to produce evidence of having received the Covid 19 vaccine.
