In this role, you'll be responsible for specialized programs within our Refugee Services Department including Preferred Communities, Intensive Case Management and Supplemental Funding for Afghans and Ukrainians. The Coordinator oversees all team operations, including administrative and client financial management, service delivery, staffing, training, and compliance with program requirements as funded. You will represent the agency and its programs with local partners, identifying programmatic requirements, and ensuring staff perform work within funder parameters.

Together with the Refugee Services Manager, you'll work to improve collaboration between programs and efficient, effective service delivery. You'll also collaborate with agency leadership and staff to influence organizational change to support program outcomes in alignment with the agency's Strategic Plan. This includes goals related to increased cultural responsiveness and humility and preparedness to meet the changing needs of WNY's diverse communities.


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or combination of education and experience in the refugee services or human services area
  • Background working in refugee services, education, or human services area
  • 1-3 years of program management experience
  • Experience with programs development at nonprofit agencies
  • Knowledgeable of the local service provider network, particularly related to refugee services education, and/or mental health services
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus
  • Exhibited ability to effectively work within an inclusive and culturally and linguistically diverse environment
  • Ability to interpret and respond to program and grant guidelines
  • Strong internet research and computer skills, especially with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based health information systems

The starting wage for this position is between $22 - $25 (midrange) per hour dependent on experience and language skills. JFSWNY offers great benefits including 4+ weeks accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 13 paid holidays, excellent health insurance options (IHA), 401k and much more. We also have a reduced 35 hour work week with an early close on Fridays!

Since this position requires work in the community, you must have a reliable vehicle, a clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of 100/300K. Additionally, you must be able to produce evidence of having received the Covid-19 vaccine.
